| "You both preceed me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing upon my head." Psalm 139:5
Has there ever been a time when you felt 'hemmed in'? Maybe you were on an elevator with a ton of people. Maybe you were scared and you sought the protection of someone's arms to make you feel safe. I remember a time when I felt this way. There is a woman at my church in Arkansas named Mrs. Diane. Mrs. Diane has known me since the 4th grade. She's one of those people who always makes you feel loved and important. She has always, always called me 'baby girl.' It is her heart's desire for Christian women to know that they are adored daughters of God.
Last year while I was home for Christmas, Mrs. Diane invited me over to her house to spend the night. We are both what you might call 'talkers', so I was really looking forward to getting to spend some extra time with her. I met her and her husband at a Mexican restaurant for dinner. We ate and visited and then decided to head to the house. I had never been to Mrs. Diane's house before, so she told me to follow her once we got on the interstate. Her husband, who was in his pickup truck, also joined in our caravan. Once we got on the interstate, I got behind Mrs. Diane. Her husband, instead of following behind her or going on ahead of us, pulled in behind me. They were making sure I didn't get lost, and it made me feel very safe and taken care of.
I think this must be how God wants us to always feel, if we are children of His. Like everywhere we're going, He's already there; and everywhere we've been, He was there too. He follows closely in front of and behind us, keeping us from tripping up and trying to run ahead of Him, but also making sure we don't dwell too much on what is behind us. If you are a child of His, take comfort in knowing that He is going everywhere you're going, and He's been everywhere you've been.

| Hey everyone! I hope your week is going great so far. The semester is almost over! And until then, we have got some fun stuff planned.
Here's the info: ~ This week, CrossSeekers WILL NOT be meeting in room 206/207. We are going to meet for some Halloween-type fun at Kristen Frye's apartment. She lives in Jefferson 738. If you don't know where this is or need a ride, let one of us know. We will shuttle you back and forth if we have to, but make plans to come! We're going to have an awesome time. And--get excited--there will be pumpkins involved. We will meet at Kristen's at our usual time (8:30). Again, LET US KNOW if you need a ride. E-mail us at: mad_cor_2001@yahoo.com ~ Corley will be at the table tomorrow in the union from 10 til 1 so stop by and visit.
That's all for now. Here's another fun picture from our late night at Denny's:
Have a great week! We'll see you Thursday!

our fun girls!
I thought you all would enjoy seeing your happy faces here on our blog. Some things you need to know: ~Imprints now meets at 8:30, NOT 8. We're still on Thursday nights and still in the union room 207, so come on out and join us! ~This Thursday evening, following Imprints, we will be going out to eat at Denny's. We have transportation covered, so make plans to join us! ~For the ladies: this Friday night, we're having a girls Homecoming sleepover at the lovely Heather Sapienza's apartment. We will eat good food, watch good movies, and do some nail painting and other fun. If you're planning on coming, e-mail me at: mad_cor_2001@yahoo.com. ~Last thing: if you're still wondering how to win the amazing Terrible Towel that hangs on our white board each week, the answer can be found in the post below this one. Good luck. | | |
| Psalm 119:35--"Direct me in the path of your commands, for there i find delight." Hey guys, I just wanted to encourage you with this verse...nothing profound....just an encouragement to remember that nothing and noone can offer us the same fulfillment and joy in life that walking with God can. Make this your prayer this week. And one more thing...the first person who reads this and responds by email to my address, jwtphil48@hotmail.com, will be the winner of the fabulous pittsburgh steelers terrible towel that hangs in front of our room on thursday nights! (And if you happen to be an unfortunate soul who does not like the steelers, or football at all for that matter, we will get you something else fun.) ~JT | | |
